About Mima
A team driven by patients, science, and real-world impact.
The Mima App
Mima started as a companion app for people living with cancer. An everyday ally that helps patients track their journey, feel supported, and make sense of what they are going through, not only medically, but humanly.
Over time, the app became part of daily life for hundreds of patients. Through their continued use, a strong and trusted community naturally grew around Mima. That community is the heart of everything we do today.
Our story
Mima was born from personal family experiences with cancer. Our founders witnessed first-hand what patients face, not just in treatment, but in navigating information, feeling isolated, and struggling to have their voices heard.
We built Mima to be a true companion in that journey: a place where patients can follow their symptoms, organize their care, connect with others, and share what they are living through, in a way that feels natural, not burdensome.
As the community grew, we realized the immense value of collective patient experience. Mima Research was created to transform this shared knowledge into rigorous, actionable scientific insights that can benefit future patients, by collaborating with and enabling other teams' research.
"We believe that every patient story is a piece of evidence, if we listen carefully and structure it well."
This principle guides everything we do at Mima, from product design to our research collaboration model.
Our mission
To use collective intelligence and patient-centred science to improve cancer prevention, survival, and quality of life.
